Mission

St Michael’s summary statement is “to enable all to follow Jesus Christ”. As part of its plan to fulfil this, the PCC has established a Mission Support Group whose aim is:

“To inform, inspire and encourage the church family in the support of Christian mission, both near and far.”

The Mission Support Group therefore:

• Raises awareness of mission within our church, with quarterly mission-themed services where visiting speakers present their organisation's work. Read about our current mission focus here. We also have regular articles about mission and the current focus in the Outlook magazine and on the church noticeboard.

• Fosters involvement in mission, looking for opportunities to support God’s work, both at home and overseas.

• Inspires prayer for mission in our church, both corporately and individually.

• Encourages generous giving to mission. In addition to church members’ personal giving, the PCC allocates a portion of its budget each year to the Mission Support Group to donate. Also, the church has special fundraising projects each year.
